      Mahant Bachittar Singh College of Engineering & Technology, Jammu organized Induction Program for newly admitted first year students of 2024 batch. The induction program commenced with the lighting of the traditional lamp by His Holiness Mahant Manjit Singh Ji (Sole Trustee) along with S. Gurnam Singh (Chairman), S. Lakhbir Singh Bawa (Advisor), Prof. (Dr.) D. K. Gupta (Director-cum-Principal), Prof. Hardev Singh (Chairman MMSIPS), Dr. Jaswant Singh (Chairman IGNOU Centre SMSCE), Prof. (Dr.) Amrik Singh (Vice Principal), Prof. Parveen Singh (Dean Academics) and Ms. Sarbjeet Kour (HOD, APSH)

       His Holiness Mahant Manjit Singh Ji shared his wisdom on the importance of education in modern time and emphasized that leading a honorable life in the twenty-first century will be available only to those who are well technically qualified. Students were advised to be committed to their professional education and to strive hard to meet their goals and expectation of their parents.

  1. Gurnam Singh, (Chairman) in his address shared his valuable insight and future vision for the institution. He highlighted the college commitment in creating a conducive learning environment for the all-round development of the students. Prof. (Dr.) Dinesh Kumar Gupta, (Principal) in his address motivated and inspired the newly enrolled students to embrace their passion for engineering and strive for excellence in their studies.

Prof. (Dr.) Amrik Singh (Vice Principal) presented details of college infrastructure and exhorted the students for their self-management while pursuing   the   technical   degree   course. Prof. Parveen Singh (Dean Academics) highlighted the course curriculum and academic policies of the college as per the rules and regulation of the University of Jammu. Dr. Jaswant Singh (Chairman IGNOU Centre SMSCE) encouraged the students to embrace their academic journey with enthusiasm and dedication.

  1. Bhupinder Singh (Chairman GHPS), Head of Departments, Director Students Welfare, Section heads and faculty members were present.

The program was coordinated by Prof. Parveen Singh, Ms. Sarbjeet Kour along with faculty members of APSH Department.  Ms. Sarbjeet Kour (HOD APSH) presented vote of thanks. The program was ably anchored by Ms. Surinder Kaur Bali and Ms. Shivangi Gupta.

 

MBS ICT Academy Program Initiative

MBS College of Engineering & Technology had signed MoU with ICT Academy to foster academic, industrial, and research collaboration. The formal ceremony took place on September 13th at the MBSCET campus in the presence of distinguished guests, faculty members and students. Mr. S. Gurusamy, Associate Vice President, Mr. Aron Dinesh, Project Manager, and Mr. Ajaz Yousuf, Coordinator ICT Academy visited the college. Mr. S. Gurusamy addressed the audience and highlighted the immense potential of this collaboration, which will bring a series of industry-relevant seminars, webinars, industrial tie-ups, and research publications to benefit both students and faculty members.

The first program on  “Artificial Intelligence” from Infosys foundation approved by Microsoft will begin in October 2024. The first batch of 60 students from final year will undergo this offline training program in the campus.

The MoU promises to bring enriching experiences and foster the development of skills necessary for students to thrive in a competitive technological landscape. Workshops, skill-building sessions, and real-world exposure through industry collaborations will be the key focus areas. This partnership with ICT sets a new milestone in MBSCET journey to create future-ready professionals for the career growth and placement of the students in the industry.

The event was graced by the presence of Dr. Dinesh Gupta, Principal MBSCET, Dr. Amrik Singh, Vice Principal, Mr. Praveen Singh, Dean Academic, Mr. H.S. Gill, Dean of Student Welfare, and the Heads of Departments from Computer Science & Engineering, Information Technology, and Mechanical Engineering.

The event was concluded with votes of thanks from Ms. Shivangi Gupta, Asst. Professor CSE department who also anchored the whole event.

91.9 Red FM Jammu electrified the atmosphere at MBSCET College today with its dynamic event, “College Ka Tashanbaaz- 2024.” The event was a grand celebration of student culture, bringing together young talents in an exciting display of creativity and competition. “College Ka Tashanbaaz- 2024” was a resounding success, featuring a variety of activities designed to engage and entertain the students. The day began with an energetic dance performance by our own students, setting the stage for a series of thrilling contests and performances. Students from various disciplines participated in competitions ranging from music, dance to other creative challenges, all vying for the College ka Tashanbaaz- 2024. The winners of the event, Mandeep Singh (Sem- VII, Mech.) and Gurmanthan Singh (Sem- III, CSE), captivated everyone with their outstanding performance.

Popular Red FM RJs, RJ Ruhi and RJ Sarang were present at the event, interacting with the students and adding to the day’s excitement. The RJs hosted live segments, conducting spontaneous on-air games and interviews with the participants, giving the students an unforgettable experience.

The event was coordinated by Prof. Parveen Singh (Dean Academics, MBSCET), Ms. Jasmine Kaur (Asst. Prof. APSH) and Dr. Nitasha Jamwal (Asst. Prof. APSH).

Mahant Bachittar Singh College of Engineering and Technology hosted awareness session on the adverse effects of tobacco in collaboration with District Health Society, Jammu on 22-05-2024.

The program commenced with keynote speaker Dr. Paras Khanna, (MCh Surgical Oncology, AIIMS New Delhi). Dr. Khanna discussed the harmful effects of both active and passive smoking, emphasizing the serious health risks to children and others. Dr. Khanna highlighted that tobacco use is a leading cause of cancer and death among young people, and encouraged the audience to assertively say, “No to Tobacco and Yes to Life.”

Dr. Mridula Singh, Nodal Officer of the National Tobacco Control Programme, Directorate of Health Services, Jammu, highlighted the COTPA 2003 act and discussed public smoking laws, highlighted government penalties, and outlined organization responsibilities for enforcing smoke-free policies.

Prof. (Dr.) Dinesh Kumar Gupta (Principal) thanked the speakers for their valuable contributions and stressed the need for more youth awareness programs to prevent engagement in harmful activities.

Ms. Shiveta Raina, Divisional Coordinator, Directorate of Health Services in Jammu, Dr. Gurpreet Kaur (MDS) also graced the event with their presence. Other dignitaries present were Prof. (Dr.) Amrik Singh (Vice- Principal), Prof. Parveen Singh (Dean Academics), and S. Hardip Singh Gill (DSW).

The event concluded with the facilitation of mementos to the team of esteemed doctors. The event was organized by Ms. Sarabjeet Kour (Head APSH dept) and Ms. Shivangi Gupta (Asst. Prof. CSE dept) The programme was anchored by Dr. Nitasha Jamwal (Asst. Prof. APSH dept).

MBSCET, students undergone a comprehensive 45-hours course on Machine Learning and Python.

The students of the 2nd and 4th Semesters of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) at MBSCET, Jammu, have successfully completed a comprehensive 45-hour course on Machine Learning and Python. This course was meticulously designed and delivered by Winnovation Services Pvt. Ltd., Jammu, with the goal of equipping students with cutting-edge skills in these pivotal areas of technology.

The course was conducted under the expert guidance of Mr. Raees Ahmed, Academic Lead at Winnovation. The training sessions were organized and coordinated by Mr. Navdeep, Cordinator Wnnovation Services Pvt Ltd, ensuring a seamless educational experience for all participants.

The Valedictory session, marking the conclusion of this enriching program, was honoured by several distinguished guests. Dr. Dinesh Kumar Gupta, Principal of MBSCET, Chief Guest for the event along with Dr. Amrik Singh, Vice Principal of MBSCET, and S.H.S. Gill, Dean of Students Welfare, graced the occasion with their presence.

From the academic leadership at MBSCET, Mrs. Ridhika Sharma, Head of the Department (HOD) of CSE, Mrs. Jasmeen Kaur, HOD of Information Technology (IT), and Mrs. Sarabjeet Kour, HOD of Applied Sciences and Humanities, were present to support and highlighted the achievements of the students.

Mr. Sarbarinder Singh, Director of Winnovation Education Services Pvt. Ltd., expressed his pride in the collaboration and the students’ accomplishments, emphasizing the importance of such courses in preparing students for future technological challenges.

Certificates on completion of the course were distributed to all participating students during the Valedictory session, acknowledging their hard work and dedication throughout the course.

This initiative is a testament to MBSCET’s commitment to providing its students with quality education and practical skills, ensuring preparedness for evolving demands of the tech industry.

Mahant  Bachittar Singh College of Engineering and Technology (MBSCET) hosted Technical event  “Build with AI” Organized by Google Developer Group Jammu on 11/05/2024.The event, focused on the latest advancements in Google AI, Machine Learning, Android Development and Flutter.

Keynote speakers Abinandhan Trilokia Organizer & Atul Sharma Co-Organizer of GDG Jammu along with team members : Chetna Sharma (WTM Lead),Daljeet kumar (content creator ) ,Satyam Pathina (Content Writer), Sourav Mishra(Community Moderator ) ,Jyotish Kumar , Daksh Choudhary and Abhilsha Gupta as volunteers ,offered attendees a comprehensive understanding of the latest tools, frameworks, and best practices through practical and live demonstration from exploring the power of AI to revolutionizing app development with Flutter, participants gained practical skills that will empower them to drive innovation in their respective fields. The event also provided a platform for networking and collaboration, enabling attendees to connect with peers, mentors, and industry professionals.

Event Coordinator GDG Jammu, Mannat Abrol , who is final year student of CSE Department MBSCET, encouraged every student to join GDG Jammu and be part of a dynamic and innovative community to be able to organize workshops , Hackathons , Tech Talks , Coding Bootcamps and many other such events in collaboration with Google.

MBS College of Engineering and Technology, in collaboration with Career Technology Cyber Security India organized a webinar “Emerging Trends in Cyber Security” on 10th May 2024.

The webinar garnered significant participation from students and faculty members eager to enhance their understanding of cyber security in today’s digital age.

The webinar, which aimed to equip participants with essential knowledge and skills to steer the complex landscape of cyber threats, covered a range of topics including data security, protection against malware, secure internet browsing practices, email and social networking security,  to name a few.

Led by industry expert Adv.Sanjeet Mishra,who was the resource person the webinar featured engaging presentations and interactive discussions.

Participants had the opportunity to learn from real – world examples and case studies, gaining valuable insights into the latest trends and best practices in cyber security.

Mrs. Ridhika Sharma, Head of the Department of CSE, MBS College of Engineering and Technology coordinated the event and extended her gratitude towards Career Technology Cyber Security India for their valuable interaction and expertise in organizing the webinar.

MBS College of Engineering and Technology Campaigned Traffic Rules Awareness through Dynamic Quiz Competition

Jammu, India: MBS College of Engineering and Technology, in collaboration with the NDLI and NSS local Chapter, proudly hosted a quiz competition and creative initiative focused on promoting traffic rules awareness and road safety. Held on May 3, 2024, the event saw enthusiastic participation from students eager to enhance their understanding of road regulations and contribute to building safer roads.

The quiz competition, powered by trafficquiz.com, provided a platform for students to test their knowledge of traffic rules and engage in discussions about responsible driving practices. Participants demonstrated a commendable grasp of road safety principles, showcasing their commitment to becoming conscientious drivers and advocates for safer roads.

In addition to the quiz, students took part in an initiative where they designed posters aimed at raising awareness about traffic rules and road safety. The posters served as powerful visual reminders of the importance of adhering to traffic regulations and promoting responsible behavior on the roads.

Dr. Dinesh Kumar Gupta, Principal of MBS CET, emphasized the importance of adhering to traffic rules for the safety of drivers, pedestrians, and cyclists alike. On 28th-Feb-2024 a highly inspiring and motivating lecture for the students was conducted by APSH dept .The aim of the event was to encourage and inspire the students to reach their fullest potential and develop a strong sense of determination towards their goals.

The guest speaker for the event was Mr.Rahul Bhargav, an alumni of our college. Mr.Bhargav holds the prestigious position of an lieutenant in the Indian Army. In 2023,Mr.Bhargav  got commissioned as an officer in Indian Army. Only 12 officers were selected all over India and he was the  only one from Northern Command. He is Cross Country Gold medalist in OTA Chennai.

During the lecture, Mr.Bhargav shared his personal journey, challenges faced, and the valuable life lessons he learned during his time in the College. He delved into his personal journey in the Indian Army, highlighting the challenges and triumphs he encountered along the way. In addition, Lieutenant Bhargav emphasized the importance of starting to build essential interpersonal skills and  computer proficiency from the present moment.

The event was attended by both faculty members and students, who eagerly participated in the interactive session following the lecture. The students had the opportunity to ask questions and seek guidance from Rahul Bhargav, who graciously provided insights and advice on personal growth, career choices, and developing leadership qualities.
