Jammu, 11th October 2024, in celebration of the auspicious occasion of Shri Durga Ashtami, MBS College of Engineering and Technology, Jammu, organized a comprehensive cleanliness drive at the Jammu Tawi riverfront. The initiative aimed to promote environmental awareness and enhance the cleanliness and well-being of the community.

Around 100 first-year students actively participated in the drive under the guidance of Ms. Sarbjeet Kour, Head of the APSH Department. The event was supported by Mr. Bhushan Parimoo, Founder of the Environmental Awareness Forum and Save River Tawi campaign, along with Mr. Anmol Ohri and Mr. Navjeev Digra from Climate Front Jammu, an NGO. The NSS unit of MBSCET, led by Mr. Ripu Daman Singh, and faculty members from first year also contributed to the initiative. The participants worked diligently to clean the riverbank and surrounding areas, removing plastic waste, debris, and other pollutants, which significantly improved the region’s aesthetic appeal and environmental health.

In recognition of their efforts, the students were facilitated by Mr. Ajeesh Jamwal, SHO Nehru Market Police Post. The cleanliness drive stands as a testament to MBS College’s dedication to social responsibility and sustainable practices. By participating in such initiatives, MBS College of Engineering and Technology, Jammu, continues to foster a sense of community while inspiring others to contribute to a cleaner and greener environment.
