MBSCET Organizes Blood Donation Camp

Mahant Bachittar Singh College of Engineering & Technology, Jammu in Collaboration with J&K Thalassemia Welfare Society and Guru Nanak Langar Mission organized a blood donation camp in the college campus which was inaugurated by S. Gurnam Singh Chairman MBSCET accompanied by  S. Lakhbir Singh Bawa.

Er. Sudhir Sethi President J&K Thalassemia Welfare Society and Er. Baljeet Singh, Guru Nanak Langar Mission thanked the college management for organizing blood donation camp, who participated in the camp along with their team. Dr. Taseer and staff from GMC, Jammu supervised the camp.

NSS unit of the college alongwith its voluntears & donors did commendable job in making this event a great success. More than fifty (50) units of blood were donated for this noble cause.

MBS College concludes thrilling Cricket Tournament

Mahant Bachittar Singh College of Engineering and Technology Successfully Concludes thrilling Cricket Tournament

From May 12 to 15, 2023, MBS College of Engineering and Technology hosted an exciting cricket tournament. Four teams competed in the competition, each representing a different engineering department at the college. Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Information Technology, and Electrical and Electronics Engineering were among the contending teams. The knockout-style competition sparked a lot of excitement and fervour among both players and spectators.  The competition began with an intense clash between the Mechanical Engineering (ME) and Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE) departments. The game displayed outstanding sportsmanship and highlighted the participants’ enormous abilities. The Mechanical Engineering team won the toss and chose to bat first, setting a lofty aim of 96 runs. Their outstanding play underlined their supremacy on the pitch. The Electrical and Electronics Engineering squad fought valiantly in response, but succumbed to the pressure, scoring only 25 runs before being all out.

As the competition moved to the second match between the Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) team and the Information Technology (IT) team, the enthusiasm grew. This nail-biting competition kept the audience on the edge of their seats. The CSE squad set a difficult aim of 105 runs, demonstrating their batting prowess. The IT squad showed remarkable tenacity and fought valiantly, but fell just short, scoring 102 runs in the allocated 10 overs. The match ended with the CSE team winning by just three runs.

The grand finals featured a fierce battle between the teams of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) and Mechanical Engineering (ME). While batting first, the CSE squad faced a powerful bowling attack headed by ME skipper Ramnam Sharma, who grabbed three key wickets, and Charanjeet, who secured two wickets at regular intervals. The CSE team finished with a competitive total of 67 runs on the board. In response, the ME team demonstrated their batting brilliance by chasing the goal down with three overs to spare. Ramnam Sharma finished as the leading scorer with 28 runs. The final battle was a monument to both teams’ tremendous talents and tenacity.

The Principal of MBS College of Engineering and Technology, Dr D S Pundhir, together with respected luminaries Vice Principal Dr. Amrik Singh, Dean of Student Welfare H.S. Gill, and Head of the Department Dr. Ritesh Sharma, honoured the players with certificates and prizes at the tournament’s completion. Ramnam Sharma was named “Man of the Tournament” for his outstanding performance throughout the tournament.

The tournament served as a platform for the students to showcase their talents and fostered a spirit of healthy competition and camaraderie. MBS College of Engineering and Technology extends its heartfelt congratulations to all the teams for their outstanding performance and looks forward to organizing similar events in the future.

MBS College organizes online workshop on IPR Awareness

Mahant Bachittar Singh College of Engineering and Technology, Jammu, in collaboration with the Ministry of Commerce and Industries, Department of Promotion and Industry in Internal Trades Govt. of India, organized online workshop on the topic “Intellectual Property Rights Awareness”. Mr. Surajit Paul, Examiner of Patents and Designs was the resource person, who presented the power-point presentation. In his presentation, he described various aspects of the intellectual property rights besides explaining the relevance, characteristics and role of patents, designs, trademarks, copyrights and SCIL in the present world.

Both students and faculty members attended the workshop which was conducted under the supervision of Prof. (Dr.) Amrik Singh, Vice-Principal. Prof. (Dr.) Niitin Langer, Mrs. Shalini Sharma, Dr. Ritesh Sharma and Mrs. Ridhika Sharma also remained present during the proceedings. E-certificates of appreciation were also issued to all the participants.

Dr. Zaid Bin Siddique, co-ordinated the proceedings of the workshop and also gave the formal vote of thanks. Dr. Sanjeev Singh HOD EED emphasized the need for sensitizing people about Intellectual Property Rights.

The Management of MBSCET, Jammu organized “Induction program” in the college auditorium for the newly admitted 2022 Batch students for B.E. courses. Parents, students and other dignitaries of trust colleges, members of management committee, HODs and faculty members were present during the program.

At the outset of the program traditional lamp was lit by His Holiness Mahant Manjit Singh Ji (Sole Trustee, MBSCET), in presence of S. Lakhbir Singh Bawa (Advisor), Dr. Surbhi Mishra (member advisory committee to Sole Trustee), Prof. (Dr.) Amar Singh Sudan (Ex-Chairman, MBSCET), S. Bhupinder Singh DIG Retd.(Chairman, GHPS), Prof. Hardev Singh, Mr. Roshan Kumar, Mr. Abhishek Sinha, Dr. Amrik Singh (Vice-Principal), Prof. Parveen Singh (Dean-Academics), S. H. S. Gill (DSW), Manjit Singh and S. Avtar Singh.

Dr. Amrik Singh and Prof. Parveen Singh presented PPT’s in which background of the college, infrastructure, academic status and achievements were highlighted. In her address Dr. Surbhi Mishra welcomed the esteemed guests, students and their parents and exhorted the students to be sincere in their studies and be dedicated for their future career. She further stressed that the college shall leave no stone unturned for raising the academic standard of the students.

His Holiness Mahant Manjit Singh Ji Chief Guest in his address, welcomed the parents and their wards for being member of MBSCET family. He stressed upon the parents and students to be aware of drugs and inculcate moral values and ethics along with their professional career at MBSCET and utilize their time in best way to achieve the desired goals in their lives.

Sole Trustee also gave away the momentos to the faculty members Dr. Sanjeev Singh, Dr. Nitin Langer, Ms. Neha Jain, Ms. Sarbjeet Kour, Ms. Saravjeet Kour, Ms. Surinder Kour Bali, Ms. Shivangi Gupta, Mr. Harinder Pal Singh, Ms. Savneet Kour, Ms. Janmeet Kour and Mr. Ripudaman Singh for their excellent contribution in organizing the event.

Webinar On Cyber Ethics & Laws Organised by the department of E&CE, MBSCET

Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering, MBSCET organised a webinar on Cyber Ethics & Laws on 29th of September 2022 in virtual mode. The students of 4th Semester ECE along with the faculty members of the department participated in the session. Dr. Sheeba Singh, Director FINNLOGIC-IT Services Pvt LTD. Mahant Bachittar Singh College of Engineering & Technology, Jammu organized Seminar on “Emerging Technologies” on 27th July, 2022 (Wednesday) conducted by Mr. Rakesh Banerjee (Director), Careerera, Noida Students from all engineering branches of 4th, 6th & 8th semester participated.

Mr. Rakesh Baneerjee spoke about the careers and technology trends. He enthusiastically updated students with various career opportunities and the most trending jobs of 21st Century which included Data Analytics, Full Stack Development, Cyber Security etc. Event was coordinated by Prof. Ravinder Kumar, Head (Training & Placement).

Placement Drive by “Extramarks” Conducted at MBSCET on 17th Aug, 2022

A Placement drive was conducted at Mahant Bachittar Singh College of Engineering & Technology, Jammu by “Extramarks Education India Pvt. Ltd.”, Jammu on 17th August 2022. Three members of HR Team, Ms. Sehar Malhotra (Operation Admin), Mr. Kunal Gupta (Business Development Executive) and Mr. Kamaljeet Singh (Assistant Manager) visited the college for the drive. The final year students from Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Computer Sciences Engineering & Information Technology department appeared for the drive. The interviewing process included Aptitude Test, GD and HR round. Three students got placed as a Sales Executive Manager on the package of 4.2 LPA. The drive was coordinated by Mr. Ravinder Kumar, Head (Training and Placement).

NSS Unit of MBS conducted cleanliness drive at college campus

On the upcoming Gandhi Jayanti Divas which is celebrated as Swach Bharat Abhiyaan across the nation, the NSS Unit of  MBSCET  conducted a cleanliness  drive at college campus on 23-9-2022 (Friday). More the 50 student volunteers of NSS Unit participated in the drive. Volunteers not only collected the waste material around the college campus but also educated others about the benefits of clean environment and surroundings under the tagline “Ek Kadam Swachhata ki Ore”
