“Declamation Competition” Organized by MBSCET on 27th August 2022

Declamation Competition was organized in the college campus on 27th August 2022 by the APSH Department for the students of first year. Event started with the lighting of traditional lamp by Prof.(Dr.) A.S.Sudan (Chairman MBSCET) in presence of Prof. Amrik Singh (Vice Principal), S. Hardeep Singh Gill (Director Student Welfare) and Dr. Deepshika Verma (HoD APSH).

At the outset of the program a tribute dance on Janamashtmi theme was presented by Ms. Saklshi Rakwal student of IT 2nd semester. The theme of declamation topic was “Make in India v/s Made in India” in which students express their views. Students also presented drama on theme of Independence Day and Teachers day.

In his address Prof. (Dr.) A.S.Sudan, appreciated the efforts of APSH Department and students and motivated them to explore their hidden talent.

Mr. Ritvik Anand (CSE 2nd sem) bagged first prize, Shriya Sambyal (2nd sem CSE) with Second Prize and Gagandeep Kour (E&C 2nd sem) as third prize.

Ms. Sugandha Sharma and Ms. Om Jyoti were the Co-ordinators of the event where as Mr. Ravinder Kumar (Head, Training & Placement) and Dr. Ritesh Sharma (HOD Mechanical) were the member of the jury.

The event was ably compered by Mr. Avtar Sunny (2nd sem IT) and Mr. Swapandeep Singh (2nd sem Mech). In the end of the event Dr. Deepshikha Verma, HOD APSH presented vote of thanks.

MBS Organize one day seminar on IT Industry Awareness

Seminar on “IT Industry Awareness”

A one day seminar on “IT Industry Awareness” was organized at MBS College of Engineering & Technology by Department of Computer Science and Engineering on 15/07/2022.  Dr. Sheeba Singh, Director Finnologic-IT Services Pvt. Ltd, Bangalore was the guest speaker of the day. Dr. Sheeba Singh holds PhD in Ethical Hacking from Singapore University and has a vast experience in the corporate industry.       Dr. Amrik Singh (HOD CSE) in his welcome speech emphasize on technological gap between the Course curriculum and industry and emphasize on learning technologies as per industry requirement to meet such gaps that would help students for better placement.

In the session, students were made aware of latest trends in IT industry with upcoming technological challenges and security issues every day. The session acted as an eye opener for the students to meet the requirements of IT industry in the way of creating a flexible and industry ready workforce, as it is serve gap between the rigorous requirement of the contemporary industries and training among students. Students of CSE and IT department participated and interacted with the guest speaker. Other faculty of the department Mr. Surinder Kumar (AP), Mr. Gurpaul Singh (AP), Ms. Jasleen Kour (AP) & Ms. Ayushi (AP) were also present in the session.

The whole event was coordinated by   Ms. Shivangi Gupta (AP) and Ms. Jasmeen Kour (A.P) with votes of thanks.

MBSCET organize two days workshop on “Cyber Security”

M.B.S College of Engineering and Technology organized two days workshop onCyber Security

A two days workshop on “Cyber Security” was organized at M.B.S College of Engineering & Technology by the Department of Computer Science and Engineering on 4th and 5th August, 2022. Dr. Sheeba Singh (Technical Head) &    Mr. Aabid Hussain Mir (Director) Finnlogic – IT services Pvt. Ltd, Banglore was the guest speakers of the event. Dr. Sheeba Singh holds Ph.D in Ethical Hacking from Singapore University and has 18 years of rich experience in corporate industry.

Workshop started with the welcome speech delivered by Ms. Shivangi Gupta (AP). Dr. Amrik Singh (HOD CSE) introduced Cyber Security to students and emphasized on the security vulnerability practices and protecting systems, server, network and data from malicious attacks.

On the first day of the workshop, students were introduced to various Cyber Security practice and cyber-attacks. Students were made aware about types of attack and security penetration using framework metasploit tools. Students were also exposed to live projects by the speaker and were made aware of challenges on Cyber Security & Laws. The session remained quite interactive and the students took optimum utilization of this informative workshop.

Second day of the session was doubt clearing session, where students had an active participation and discussed the future career scope in Cyber Security. After this, certificates were provided to all the students by Principal (Prof. (Dr.) D.S Pudhir) along with Vice-Principal (Dr. Amrik Singh) & Dean Academics (Mr. Parveen Singh). The Principal in his address appreciated the department for organizing such industry oriented workshop for the students.

Mr. Gurpaul Singh (AP), Ms. Jasleen Kaur (AP), Ms. Saravjeet Kour (AP), Ms. Ramanjeet Kour (AP), Ms. Ayushi (AP), Ms. Ridhika Sharma (AP) were also present in this session. Training & Placement Cell of Mahant Bachittar Singh College of Engineering and Technology, Jammu on 30th August, 2022 (Tuesday) organized Industrial Visit for students of 6th Semester, Electrical Engineering Department 2019 Batch in Jammu & Kashmir Milk Producer’s Co-operative Limited (JKMPCL), Satwari (Jammu). Students were accompanied by Dr. Sanjeev Singh (Associate Professor, EE) & Mr. Ravinder Kumar (Head, Training & Placement). Mr. Sardar Chand (General Manager, JKMPCL) welcomed the students & Staff. Er. Bhawani Lal Kurre (Production Officer) demonstrated the students about the entire functionalities and automation involved in the plant and also provided live experiences in different units of Industry. MBSCET Management & Students are thankful to entire team of JKMPCL for making aware with different technical aspects in their industry.

Mahant Bachittar Singh College of Engineering and Technology (MBSCET), Jammu and National Institute of Technology (NITK), Karnataka, Surathkal joined hand to promote digital Learning in the J&K (UT). In pursuit of the same a webinar was organized jointly by NITK, Surathkal and MBSCET, Jammu on August 26, 2022. The objective of the webinar was to train the faculty members in conducting virtual labs in the field of engineering and sciences. The virtual labs is an online platform where the experiments can be performed without the physical instruments or machinery. The beneficiaries of the event will be the aspiring candidates who want to do engineering rather than just read engineering.

The event was hosted by Dr. Ritesh Sharma (Associate professor), Department of Mechanical Engineering, MBSCET, Jammu and chaired by Prof. K.V. Gangadharan, Professor in Mechanical Engineering and Head of the Centre for System Design, President, Institute Innovation Council, NITK, Surathkal. Dr. Sheena, Associate Professor, School of Management NITK Surathkal was the guest of honor.

Department of Applied Sciences and Humanities (APSH) of MBSCET under the patronage of Prof. Sarbjeet Kour HoD APSH (Convener CSA)organised Talent Hunt competition for first semester students. Chairman of the college, Dr. Amar Singh Sudan was the Cheif guest where as Dr. D. S. Pundhir (Principal MBSCET) and Sardar Lakhbir Singh Bawa(Advisor MBSCET ) were the guest of honour . Dr. Amrik Singh(Vice Principal) Prof. Parveen Singh(Dean academics ) and Sardar H. S. Gill (Director students welfare)special guests on the occasion. Prof. Shalini, HoD ECE department, Prof. Surinder Kour Bali, HoD IT department and H. S. Gill were the jury members. The event began with
the lighting of lamp followed by colorfull performances of first semester students. The students participated in different categories namely poster making, painting, rangoli making, best out of waste, dancing, singing etc. The other faculty members present on the occasion include Prof. Jasmine Kour, Prof. Sudesh Kumari, Prof. Natesh Kumar, Dr. Deepshikha Verma, Dr. Sehar Shakeel Raina and Prof. Sugandha Sharma.
